New Champions’ League records for Cristiano Ronaldo!
Cristiano Ronaldo has lost his first Champions’ League after comeback to Manchester United (1-2 to Young Boys) but this annoying circumstance was not obstacle for him to inscribe himself in the CL Record Book for few more positions.
*Cristiano Ronaldo has scored the 1st goal of this CL season and became the first player to score the first goal in two CL campaigns.
He also netted the first goal in 2009/10 for Real Madrid in a 5-2 win vs Zürich.
*Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in 16 different seasons of the Champions League (group stages and final rounds). He is now a joint record holder in this category, along with Ryan Giggs, Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema. However, Messi and Benzema can be the first to reach 17 if they score this season.
*Cristiano Ronaldo has made his 177th Champions League appearance, equalling Iker Casillas as the player with the most appearances in the competition's history.
