Gaspar Servio, a 29-year old Argentine from Paraguayan club Guaraní became the most scoring goalkeeper of world’s top football in 2021. He netted 7 times, all 7 from penalties in the games of Paraguayan league.
In the whole previous career, Servio has scored only once at top level.
Apart from Servio, only one goalkeeper has scored more than once in 2021 – a Brazilian Jean (full name: Jean Paulo Fernandes Filho), 2 goals in Brazilian Serie A for Atlético Goianiense. He played there in the first half of the year before moving to Cerro Porteño (Paraguay) where he has added nothing to his tally.
