CHINA WINS 9TH TITLE !
Yet again displaying a great grit, determination and physical, mental strength, not to miss football skills, China conquerors Asia! China defeated Korea 3-2 coming from two goals from behind to lift AFC Asia Women's Cup. It is China's record 9th title.
It was a dramatic #WACFinal and China, The Steel Roses become the ultimate comeback queens by WINNING their 9th #WAC Title.
Korea playing in their maiden final kicked off little cautiously. As China was about to atanp their authority on the game, Korea took the lead with a surprise move from the right wide. Y. Choe scored the goal at 26th minute. Korea doubled the lead from a penalty spot with S. Jie kicking pass Chinese GK kust before the half time whistle. It was believed that Korea had their one hand on the trophy.
On the other hand, China had some other ideas. They not only stepped up the pace of the game, but made goal bound moves. J. Tang converted the spot kick at 68th minute. Just four minutes later, Zhang Linyan’s game-changing header leveled the score at 2-2. Everybody was expecting the extra time and probably the Penalty shootout, China again ambused the Koreans at well deep in 93rd minute. A swift move from yhe right side left the Korean defence flat footed.
Title-winning goal by Xiao Yuyi won the title for the Chinese and broke the Korean hearts!
China won their 9th title. Their victories were at 2022, 2006, 1998, 1997, 1995, 1993, 1991, 1989 and 1986 championship.
Along with the #WAC2022 championship, China won two coveted awards. Wang Shanshan is the #WAC2022 Most Valuable player and Zhu Yu is the #WAC2022 Best Goalkeeper
Koreans, on the other hand promised the bright future and won the hearts with skillful performance.
