Dušan Vlahović – 2nd fastest goal-scorer debutant in UCL!
Dušan Vlahović (Juventus) took just 33 seconds to score in his first UEFA Champions’ League game (vs Villarreal, 1-1).
This is 2nd fastest goal-scoring debut in the history of competition. Vlahović concedes only to Yevhen Konoplyanka who debuted with a goal for Sevilla in 2015 after 19 seconds. But Konoplyanka did it being a substitute.
If we consider only those who played in the starting lineup, then Vlahović becomes the new Champions’ League record holder (the former was Andreas Möller, 37 seconds).
*Vlahović is now also the 2nd in the list of Juventus players to score the fastest goals in UCL, conceding only to Alessandro Del Piero (20 seconds, in 1997 vs Manchester United).
Gonzalo Higuaín (1 minute 14 seconds, 2018, vs Tottenham) and Mario Mandžukić (1 minute 17 seconds, 2018, vs Real Madrid) follow them.
*Vlahović became the 2nd youngest player (age: 22 years 25 days) to score on his Champions’ League debut in the history of Juventus, after the same Alessandro Del Piero who did it at the age of 20 years 308 days.
*Dusan Vlahovic is now the youngest Serbian player to score in Champions’ League play-off stage. He surpassed Zoran Tosic who scored at the round of 16 of the season 2011-12 for CSKA Moscow at 24 years 321 days.
