*Just Fontaine scored for France in 6 consecutive World Cup games (all at 1958 edition) and set the record for longest scoring series which stands until now being only equaled by Jairzinho which repeated the same for Brazil in 1970.
*Eight players achieved 5-game scoring streaks. In 3 cases (Lájos Tichy, Teófilo Cubillas, Careca) the streak started in one edition and continued in other.
Since 1994 (Hristo Stoichkov), no player managed to score in 5 games in a row.
