Argentina fail to equal the Italy’s unbeaten record
The event expected to happen on November 22 did not take place. Argentina, undefeated in 36 consecutive matches and being one step away from Italy's world record, have suddenly lost to Saudi Arabia.
Before dramatic end of their streak, Argentina remained unbeaten for over 3 years, since July 2019. Moreover, they stopped another great series of 26 games in a row without even losing on the course of a single game. The last time they had a disadvantage was on 12 November 2020 against Paraguay in the World Cup qualifiers.
Now “Albiceleste” take the second line in the historical ranking behind Italy who will enjoy their record for years more.
