The Argentine striker Germán Cano set the all-time record for the Brazilian league since 1959.
He scored 26 goals for Fluminense in Serie A 2022. This is the highest figure in a calendar year for foreign players. The previous record (21 goals in 2003) belonged to the Colombian Víctor Aristizábal.
