NEW RECORD FOR IBRAHIMOVIC
Ibrahimović set new age record in Serie A
Zlatan Ibrahimović, recently back to the pitch for AC Milan after a long injury treatment, immediately set a record in the Italian Serie A. He became the oldest outfield player in the league history.
His record is currently 41 years 152 days, and he will certainly push it further, at least until this season end.
“Ibra” surpassed the achievement of Alessandro Costacurta, who finished the performances, also for Milan, at 41 years 25 days.
There have been 22 players aged 40+ in Serie A history. Of these, 14 are goalkeepers, and only 8 outfield players.
In the general ranking of the league oldtimers, as many as 6 goalkeepers are placed above Zlatan (Marco Ballotta, Gianluigi Buffon, Francesco Antonioli, Gianluca Pegolo, Alberto Fontana, Roberto Colombo).
