They started with a double victory over Viborg (3-1, 3-0) in the qualifying round, then beat each opponent twice in the group stage (FCSB 3-1, 3-0, Silkeborg 3-2, 1-0, Anderlecht 1-0, 2-1) and carried on winning in the round of 16 (AEK Larnaca 2-0, 4-0).
This 10-win run is one of the top 5 such streaks in European tournament history of all time.
The record belongs to Bayern: 15 wins in a row in the Champions League. Bayern’s series began in the 2019-20 season and ended in 2020-21.
West Ham will move into 2nd place in the historical ranking if they win the first quarter-final match. And if they continue to win at all stages, they will just be able to catch up with the Bayern record this season.
