AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS

Algeria, Burkina Faso, Namibia, Senegal, S. Africa, Tunisia qualify as Botswana, Lesotho, LiberiaMadagasca get eliminated.

The 6 teams qualified following Day 4 matches of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Ivory Coast 2023 played Monday  and Tuesday. The pat on the back went to the Brave Warriors of Nambia who melted predictions to tame the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Dobsonville Stadium, Soweto 2-1. First leg absentee and Cameroon captain Vincent Aboubakar reduced tally in the 79 th minute to put fulltime scores at 1-2 for Namibia who had scored in the55th and 72nd minutes through Peter Shalulile and Absalom Limbondi, respectively. With 4pts and a game to go against Burundi, Cameroon could miss out on the final tournament should their next opponents, Burundi prevail against Namibia, and then Cameroon in Yaounde on the last day. 

While Algeria, Burkina Faso, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia join Morocco and hosts, Ivory Coast as the only qualified teams, Only Botswana, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Sao Tome & Principe can’t qualify anymore.
