KYLIAN MBAPPE, NEW LEADER OF THE THIRD DECADE GOAL SCORERS
Mbappé: the new Decade goal-scorers’ leader
On 24 March, Kylian Mbappé scored a brace in the Euro qualifier vs Netherlands (4-0), moving ahead of Robert Lewandowski in the IFFHS ranking for the goal-scorers of 3rd Decade of XXI Century (2021-2030).
Mbappé is the new leader with 120 goals. Lewandowski, who was the permanent leader during more than 2 years (since 6 March 2021), is now the second with 118 and under pressure from Erling Haaland (110).
However, Lewandowski is still the best on national leagues’ goals (74).
Here in the table we list all players amassing 60+ top level goals in the 3rd Decade, with a breakdown of their tallies by tournaments and by years.
All goals at top senior level are counted: top national leagues (NL), including Paulista and Carioca, national cups (NC), official international club competitions (ICC), official games between national teams (NT).
Period: from 1 January 2021 to 30 March 2023.
Tie-breaking criteria in case of equal number of total goals: 1) international goals (ICC + NT), 2) goals scored for national team (NT), 3) goals scored in domestic league (NL).
