In 1997, the IFFHS decided to create two new Awards more : THE WORLD’S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER of the year (for the season) and THE WORLD’S MOST EFFECTIVE TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER of the year (goals/matches=coefficient).
So the IFFHS has determined 9 Awards in 1997.
