Copa Libertadores: statistics on group stage match-day 3 (3-5 May)
*Counting from 2014, no one team beat teams from Brazil more times in CONMEBOL tournaments (11) than Independiente del Valle (Ecuador). They defeated Botafogo, Atlético Mineiro, América Mineiro, Flamengo, Gremio, São Paulo and now again Corinthians (2-1 away) in that span.
*Bolívar, who crushed Cerro Porteño 4-0 away, became just the 3rd Bolivian team to score 4+ goals in a single game outside Bolivia in the entire history of the Copa Libertadores, after Municipal La Paz (4-3 in Ecuador vs 9 Octubre on 19 February 1966) and Blooming (4-3 in Chile vs O'Higgins on 2 May 1984).
*Bolívar have scored 4+ goals in a game outside of Bolivia for the first time in the entire history of the Copa Libertadores. Previously, they had done it away from home only against the compatriots, Jorge Wilstermann (6 goals in La Paz on 5 April 1979), San José (4 goals in Oruro on 2 April 1992) and Oriente Petrolero (4 goals in Sucre on 19 February 1997).
*Flamengo (1-1 vs Racing Club) are now in just 1 game from the Copa Libertadores record of best streak of consecutive matches scoring that belongs to Santos (24, between 1962 and 1984). Flamengo have 23 now (the series lasts since 2021).
Three other teams in the history of competition also have 23-game streaks (Peñarol in 1989-1997, São Paulo in 2004-2006 and Universidad Católica in 1993-1995).
*Gabriel Barbosa, who scored the only goal of Flamengo vs Racing Club, became the best Brazilian goal-scorer (30 goals) in the history of Copa Libertadores, surpassing Luizão (29).
In the all-time ranking of the tournament, “Gabigol” shares 5th position; he is 7th player overall to reach 30-goal mark.
*David Martínez (Monagas) became in the game vs Pereira (Colombia, 1-2) the youngest Venezuelan scorer (17 years 86 days) in the history of Copa Libertadores, surpassing José Peraza (17 years 294 days).
*Patronato (Argentina) have scored 2 of 3 fastest goals in the current edition of Copa Libertadores. Mateo Levato scored at 1 minute 44 seconds against Atlético Nacional on the first match-day and now Juan Cruz Esquivel did it at 3 minutes 58 seconds in the game vs Melgar (4-1).
*Two own goals occurred in the first 15 minutes of the game Independiente Medellín vs Metropolitanos (4-2). This had already happened twice, both times in 2020; on 23 September (Felipe Campos at 7' and Gabriel Suazo at 14' in the game Colo Colo vs Athletico Paranaense) and on 29 September (Diego Otoya at 2' and Camilo Mancilla at the 14' in the game Binacional vs Liga de Quito).
*The own goal scored by Metropolitanos (Venezuela) player Carlos Gruezo's in favor of Independiente Medellín at 47 seconds became the fastest own goal in the Copa Libertadores since 7 February 2008 (Jules Ntamak from Boyacá Chicó scored at 40 seconds vs Audax Italiano).
