Robert Dienst is the record holder among goal-scorers of Austrian league since its foundation in 1911. He amassed 321 goals in 351 games between 1943 and 1962; vast majority of them (305) for Rapid Wien.
Next generation player, Johann Krankl, missed just 2 goals to catch him up. Only these 2 strikers have reached 300 goals.
The mark of 200 goals is conquered by 12 players (they are listed in the ranking), 150 goals by 32 players, 100 goals by 70 players. There are no active players currently in the “Club 100+”.
The best foreign scorer is Jonathan Soriano (Spain), 120 goals between 2011 and 2017.
Soon after the Anschluss and until the end of the 2nd World War (1938 to 1945), the Austrian league was included into the structure of the German club football as Gauliga Ostmark (and then under few other names). This period was also considered, except participation of Austrian champions in the final stage of German championship.
Also, the post-season mini-tournaments for Mitropa Cup places in 1933-34, 1934-35 and 1935-36 are taken in consideration.
