Lamine Yamal: youngest ever international competitive scorer in Europe!
Lamine Yamal burst into European football with a string of outstanding records. The young Spanish talent appeared in the away Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia (7-1) at the age of just 16 years 57 days. And he not only entered the field, but also took part in the crashing the opponent by scoring a goal (PICTURE).

Youngest player to make his debut for Spain
He surpassed ex-record holder Gavi for more than a year at once (Gavi debutted at 17 years 62 days on 6 October 2021 in Nations League game vs France 1-2).
Youngest player to score for Spain
He overtook this record from the same Gavi, beating him in this category for almost 2 years at once! Gavi scored on 5 June 2022 vs Czech Republic (2-2) being 17 years 304 days old.
Second youngest player in Euro history
In the whole history of European championships (including qualifiers), only one player appeared at younger age: Martin Ødegaard (Norway), debut on 13 October 2014 vs Bulgaria (2-1).
Yamal became 5th player under 17 to appear in the games of Euro.
Youngest scorer in Euro history
He beat former record holder Gareth Bale (Wales) for more than year at once! Bale scored vs Slovakia (1-5) on 7 October 2006 at 17 years 83 days. Hence, Yamal is the first player under 17 to score in a Euro game.
Youngest ever international competitive scorer in Europe
No one player in the whole history of European football managed to score in a competitive game for club or country being younger than Yamal.
Two players, both more than 100 years ago, scored for their national teams at younger age but they did it in the friendlies: Sam Johnston (Ireland) in 1882 at 15years 160 days and József Horváth (Hungary) in 1906 at 16 years 12 days.
