Statistics on Euro 2024 qualifiers of 7-12 September

*Spain have scored 6+ goals in two consecutive matches (7-1 vs Georgia, 6-0 vs Cyprus) for the 2nd time in their history. 
For the first time it happened nearly 90 years ago (13-0 in a friendly vs Bulgaria on 21 May 1933, 9-0 vs Portugal in a World Cup qualifier on 11 March 1934).

*Spain have scored in each of their last 23 home Euro qualifiers.

*Spain have won 32 of their last 33 home Euro qualifiers. The only exception game was the 0-1 defeat from Greece in June 2003.

*Spain's 4-0 advantage after the first halftime vs Georgia is their biggest playing as a visitor; the same intermediate score was repeated vs Francia in 1922, vs Chile in 1960 and vs Liechtenstein in 2017.

*Álvaro Morata has scored vs Georgia his first hat-trick for Spain in this game.

*Lamine Yamal, in addition to number of records established in the game vs Georgia, set another one vs Cyprus: he became the youngest ever Spain’s starter (16 years 61 days).

*Gavi has scored vs Cyprus the 1,500th goal in the history of the Spanish team.

Georgia also conceded so much (7 goals) for the first in their history.

*Portugal’s 9-0 win over Luxembourg, achieved without suspended Cristiano Ronaldo, became their new all-time biggest victory, surpassing three 8-0 wins (vs Liechtenstein in 1994 and 1999, vs Kuwait in 2003).

*As for Luxembourg, they repeated their largest ever defeat. Previously, they lost with 0-9 score also vs Germany on 4 August 1936 and vs England twice, on 19 October 1960 and 15 December 1982.

*Kyle Walker, England’s scorer vs Ukraine (1-1), became at the age of 33 years 104 days their second-oldest player to score his first goal, after Jimmy Moore vs Sweden in May 1923 (34 years 10 days). 

*Erling Haaland has scored vs Georgia (2-1) his 25th goal for Norway (in 26 games) becoming the all-time joint-second scorer of his country along with Harald Hennum.
Haaland is 8 goals away from the record holder Jorgen Juve (33 goals).
