MATS HUMMELS BECAME RECORD CO HOLDER !
Hummels scores in most consecutive Bundesliga seasons
The Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels became a record co-holder in the German Bundesliga, having found the net in the game vs Freiburg (4-2, even twice).
He scored at least one goal in the 16th Bundesliga season in a row. This is the maximal rate in the history of the league since its creation in 1963.
Only 5 players had achieved this before Hummels. They are collected in the table.
Quite strange is that no one of all-time greatest Bundesliga scorers enters the list. Bernd Nickel has scored the most goals among these 6 players, and he only takes 20th place in the historical league ranking for goal-scorers.
Another amazing thing: no one of these 6 players was a pure forward in his career. Willi Neuberger, like Hummels, played as defender while Olaf Thon, Michael Zorc, Holger Fach and Bernd Nickel mainly as midfielders.
