The battle was keen during leg 2 of 2 of the second preliminary round and the outcome compelling with Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas exorcising a five- year drought to reach the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. They showed character to defeat Al Ahly Benghazi 2-1 and obtained the historic qualification. FC Nouadhibou took Mauritania to their premier Champions League group stage. FAR of Morocco and Horoya of Guinea both slumped in their respective endeavours.
