WOMEN’S CONMEBOL COPA LIBERTADORES (STAGE ROUND)
- Brazilian clubs Palmeiras, Corinthians and Internacional won their 3 games in their Group, scoring all 12 goals or more ! Only Corinthians made also a clean sheet !
- With the 3 Brazilian clubs, 2 Colombian (America Cali, Atl. Nacional), 2 Chilian clubs (Colo Colo, Universidad Chile) and one Paraguayan club (Club Olimpia) qualified for the quarter finals (14 and 15 October 2023).
- Diana Celis (Santa Fe) scored the most goals in the Group stage (4) with Millene (Corinthians), but she is not qualified for the quarter finals.
- Palmeiras (15 goals) was the most efficient of the 16 teams. Bia Zanerrato and Lais Estevam scored each 3 goals. In the quarter final, they will face Club Olimpia, Paraguay’s champion.
- Universidad Chile was the only non-brazilian club to win a Group and are today also the most able non brazilian club to join the semi final. Atl.Nacional of Colombia is the team to beat in that game !
- Corinthians with Goalgetter Millene (already 4 goals) will face America Cali, the Colombian champion. Cali won only one game to secure the second place with the same points that Boca Junior.
- Catalina Usme, Cali’s and Colombia’s National Team captain, leads the ranking of the All Time Copa Libertadores Goal Scorers with 33 goals (3 already in 2023). She scored 19 with Formas Intimas, 4 with Santa Fe and 10 with América Cali.
- SC Internacional was also very impressive in the Group stage with 3 wins against América Cali, Boca Junior ! They will face Colo Colo in the quarter final.
- Colo Colo is one of the 3 clubs to have already won the Copa Libertadores. It was in 2012. Corinthians (2019 and 2021) and Palmeiras (2022) are the two others in the last 3 years …
