MARCELO NUMBER 14
Marcelo, 14th club champion in two continents
A Fluminense defender Marcelo won his first Copa Libertadores after becoming a 5-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid.
Thus, the Brazilian veteran became the 14th player in the history that has won biggest club trophies in both leading football continents.
Marcelo is the 2nd player who entered this “Club” in 2023. Shortly before him, Julián Álvarez joined it thanks to winning UCL with Manchester City (after enjoying the victory in Copa Libertadores with River Plate in 2018).
All 14 players are from just two countries, Brazil (10) and Argentina (4).
Only the players who appeared for at least 1 game in a victorious tournament of each continent are included in the list.
