PEPE'S RECORDS !
Pepe, first ever player with multiple goals in UEFA club competitions at 40+!
Porto’s defender veteran Pepe has set series of age records while playing in the 2023-24 Champions’ League group stage.
He became the oldest outfielder and then also the oldest scorer in the history of competition.
Finally, the last round of the group program, vs Shakhter (5-3), with another his goal, he pushed his own record further – to 40 years 290 days.
Besides, he is now the only player in the history of UEFA club competitions after turning 40.
Overall in the history, there are now 4 goals scored by players aged 40+; two of them belong to Pepe, one to both Joaquín and Daniel Berg Hestad.
Joaquín’s record for the oldest ever goal UEFA club competitions still stands, but Pepe, in such a great form, looks able to grab it, too.
