IFFHS AWARDS 2023 - THE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Since 1987, the IFFHS organize each year the votes and the statistics to crown the annual winners in all World categories. All our rankings are made for the civil year from January 1 to end December, not the season.
The international jury is composed by the members of the IFFHS (sport journalists, football experts) from 120 countries of all continents in the World .
The Awards for the categories of the World’s Best Goal Scorers, the Club World Ranking, the World Best Teams and the World Best Leagues are determined by IFFHS statistics ,recognized in the whole World and will be published in January 2023.
The IFFHS was the first to create the Award for THE WORLD’S BEST PLAYER in 1988. Marco Van Basten (2) and Lothar Matthaus were the 3 winners (1988 to 1990) before FIFA President Sepp Blatter asked IFFHS this World Award to become FIFA World Player of the Year. Since 2020, the IFFHS has decided to award again IFFHS WORLD’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR and in 2021, also added the IFFHS WORLD’S YOUTH PLAYER OF THE YEAR !
From December 26, the IFFHS will publish the 2023 IFFHS AWARDS Winners for Women and Men in the categories :
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST PLAYER
- IFFHS WORLD’S YOUTH (U20) BEST PLAYER
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST PLAYMAKER
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST GOALKEEPER
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST REFEREE
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST CLUB COACH
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST NATIONAL COACH
In January, the IFFHS will publish for women and men :
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST NATIONAL TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER
- IFFHS WORLD’S BEST GLOBAL GOAL SCORER
- IFFHS CLUB WORLD RANKING
- IFFHS STRONGEST LEAGUES IN THE WORLD
- IFFHS WORLD TEAMS OF THE YEAR
- IFFHS CONTINENTAL TEAMS OF THE YEAR
