YAMAL, NEW YOUNGEST BRACE IN LA LIGA
Yamal, new youngest brace scorer in La Liga
Lamine Yamal goes on rewriting the record books of Spanish football.
On 11 February, in the game vs Granada (2-2), the Barcelona wonderkid set the new record as youngest scorer of a brace in La Liga. He did it in the age of 16 years 213 days.
Moreover, Lamine became the first player in the history of Spanish top flight to score 2+ goals in the same being before turning 17.
The previous record holder was Ansu Fati who achieved a brace at 17 years 94 days, also for Barcelona.
Earlier this season, Yamal set the new record in the category of La Liga’s youngest scorer (16 years 87 days); curiously, the opposition was Granada aa well. Granada is so far the only rival whom Yamal scored against.
In the ranking of youngest braces, José Iraragorri (7th position) stands out as his first brace was also a hat-trick.
