PRESENTATION

Jaime Ivan Kaviedes, born in Santo Domingo (Ecuador) on 24 October 1977, realised two great performances in his career. He became THE WORLD’S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER 1998 with a total of 43 goals and he scored the goal which drived his national team Ecuador to his first World Cup final participation in 2002 !

He began his youth career in CS Emelec where he signed also his first contract with 18 before playing his first match in the Primera Division in 1995. He scored more and more goals, 16 in 1997 and 43 goals in 1998, a record not only in Ecuador but also in the 50 best leagues in the World. So he won THE WORLD’S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER Award 1998 by IFFHS. He was only 21 years old !

The same year he played his first match in the national team of Ecuador against Brazil ! He played from 1998 to 2012 , 53 matches with the national team and scored 17 goals. He played two FIFA World Cups with Ecuador in 2002 and 2006, scoring one goal in Germany.

After his time in Emelec (57 matches, 48 goals), he went to Italy (AC Perouse Calcio for 14 matches and 4 goals) , to Spain to Celta de Vigo (1999-2003) where he was lend to FC Porto (Portugal), Real Valladolid (23 matches, 6 goals), CF Puebla (Mexico) (17 matches, 4 goals), Barcelona SC (Ecuador – 8 matches, 4 goals), Deportivo Quito (Ecuador – 10 matches, 2 goals). He continued his road in England at Crystal Palace (4 matches only) before signing in Barcelona SC in Ecuador (43 matches, 14 goals, 2004-2006) and Argentinos Juniors (Argentina) ! In 2007, he went to CD El Nacional (Ecuador) and scored 14 goals in 34 matches. LDU Quito (2008) was his next step before joining in 2010 Deportivo Macara (22 matches, 10 goals). CD El Nacional again in 2011/12 with 7 goals in 16 matches and after SD Aucas in 2012 (14 matches, 5 goals). After SD Quito, he will finish his career in Aguilas (Ecuador) where he played since 2015 .

Jaime Ivan Kaviedes played in 6 countries , in Ecuador Serie A (195 matches, 105 goals), in Italy Serie A (14 matches, 4 goals), in Spain Primera Division (29 matches, 8 goals), in Mexico Primera Division (23 matches, 5 goals), in England Premier League (2 matches only) and in Argentina Primera Division (13 matches, 1 goal). Another record for the Ecuador player !
