FEWEST GAMES IN ENGLAND
Fewest games to 100 goals: England league’s all-time ranking
Erling Haaland who celebrated few days ago his milestone, 100 goals in all competitions with Manchester City, reached it after just 105 appearances what is extraordinary feat.
In top flight of English football over its whole history since 1888, only one player reached 100 goals in all competitions faster than Haaland. And did it just one game faster.
It is the Scot Dave Halliday, who passed 100 goals on his 104th appearance for Sunderland in January 1928.
The legendary Dixie Dean (picture) sits joint-second in the all-time ranking (below) with Haaland. Curiously, Dean came to three figures in his first 105 Everton appearances, reaching the landmark in 1928 just 9 days after Halliday.
Another legend Jimmy Greaves is notable figure in this ranking as well: he scored 100 goals with Chelsea, his first club, after 109 games, and with Tottenham Hotspur, his next English employers, after 136.
