MARC PUJOL IN HISTORY
Marc Pujol beat Stanley Matthews’s record!
Andorran midfielder Marc Pujol scored a goal (PICTURE) on 13 October in a friendly vs Andorra (2-0) at the age of 42 years 53 days.
In doing so, he broke the ancient European record for national teams, which was held by Stanley Matthews (a goal for England against Northern Ireland in 1956 at 41 years 248 days).
So far, only they two have scored after turning 40. They will probably soon be joined by Cristiano Ronaldo, whose 40th birthday is inexorably approaching.
