IFFHS Men’s World Best Goal Scorer 2024: Viktor Gyökeres
Viktor Gyökeres has won the IFFHS award of the World’s Best Goal Scorer 2024 with 62 goals for his club (Sporting Lisbon) and country (Sweden) and a solid 13-goal margin in front of the second-placed Erling Haaland (49).
In XXI century, only 2 winners had a bigger advantage to the runner-ups: Lionel Messi in 2012 (28: his 91 against 63 of Cristiano Ronaldo) and
Robert Lewandowski in 2021 (18: his 69 against 51 of Kylian Mbappe).
Gyökeres became the 4th player in the century to have scored 60+ goals in a calendar year (after Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewandowski).
