NEW CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RECORD
Lewandowski, first player to score 10+ goals in a UCL season for 3 teams
Robert Lewandowski set a new Champions League record following this campaign. He became the first player in competition’s history to score 10+ goals in a single season for 3 different teams.
He did it earlier with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich (twice) and now with Barcelona.
The only other player to score 10+ goals in a UCL season for multiple teams is Erling Haaland, once with Borussia Dortmund and once with Manchester City. Apart from these cases, he had another season with 10 goals (2019-20) in which he shared the amount between two clubs, Red Bull Salzburg (8) and Borussia Dortmund (2).
Another Lewandowski’s achievement of this campaign: he became the oldest player (36 years 231 days) with double-digit UCL goals in a season. He surpassed Karim Benzema who reached this mark in 2021-22 at 34 years 108 days.
