HISTORICAL HAT TRICK
Wessam Abou Ali’s historical hat-trick
26-year old Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali made a history having scored a hat-trick for Al Ahly Cairo against Porto (4-4) in maybe the most attractive game of the 2025 Club World Cup so far which however saw both opponents eliminated.
*Wessam Abou Ali became the first Asian player in history to score a hat-trick in a FIFA club competition.
*It is 2nd hat-trick against a European team in official intercontinental club competitions, after Pelé with Santos against Benfica (5-2) on 11 October 1962.
*It is the first perfect hat-trick (with goals by left foot, right foot and head) in the history of official intercontinental club tournaments (since 1960).
