*A French club became the UEFA Super Cup winner for the first time.
Previously, only PSG could do this in 1996, but they lost in a two-match confrontation to Juventus (1-6, 1-3).

*The Champions League winners have not lost the UEFA Super Cup for already 7 years.
The last Europa League winner to win the Super Cup was Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone's team beat Real Madrid 4-2 in 2018.
