Brazil Serie A’s largest win for 40 years
Flamengo’s 8-0 win over Vitória became the biggest win in the Brazilian league since 1984.
In the whole history of the competition, there were only 2 games that ended with a biggest margin, 9 goals (see the table).
Flamengo also equalled the club's biggest win in the history of Brasileirão. In 1981, they beat Fortaleza with same score.
The table does not include couple of big wins in the 2000 Brazilian Championship. The João Havelange Cup (its name that year) featured games that ended 9-1 (Baré vs Genus) and 8-0 (Etti Jundiaí vs União Bandeirante). But in the competition there were several modules and these two were not from the main module.
