Jorge Luis Sampaoli Moya, born 13 March 1960 in Casilda Santa Fe, is an Argentine Manager, who has realized his greatest performance as coach of the Chile National Team, winning the Copa America 2015 and becoming THE WORLD’S BEST NATIONAL COACH 2015 by IFFHS.
He made his player debut in the youth teams of Newell’s Old Boys , joined Casildenses and Casilda ,but switched quickly to management after a severe injury at 31.
Alumni de Casilda was his last step as player and his first as Coach in 1991 to 1996. After some stays in Arequito, Rosario and Sport Boys with 5.Division titles in 1996, 1999 and 2000 , he signed in 2004 at Coronel Bolognesi of Peru with an impressive managerial run. Brief and successfull stays at O’Higgins of Chile and Emelec of Ecuador allowed Jorge Sampaoli to earn the contract with Universidad of Chile in 2010. He won there his first Elite titles, three league titles (Torneo Apertura 2011 and 2012, Torneo Clausura 2011) and the Copa Sudamericana 2011 !

He became in 2012 the National Coach of Chile, replacing Claudio Borghi. He led the National Team to their first Copa America title in 2015, after winning against Argentina in the final in Chile ! An Argentine Coach of Chile defeated the Argentina National Team to win the Trophy ! In 2015 he was crowned as THE WORLD’S BEST NATIONAL COACH by IFFHS, The South American Coach of the Year and The Coach of the Copa America !
He joined FC Sevilla in 2016, qualified his team for the Champions League before receiving the possibility to coach Argentina’s National Team, a dream for Sampaoli. He led his team to the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia where a disappointing run made him left by mutual consent, Argentina was defeated in the round of 16. He joined FC Santos in Brazil where he led his team to the second place in the League (2018/19).
