DREAM TEAM - FORWARDS
This year 2020, the BALLON D'OR was cancelled because of the COVID 19 but France-Football, the magazine of World Football, decided to make an Operation DREAM TEAM, considering in each position (1-3-4-3) the Best players of the History. A difficult work because of the many great players that the World Football has seen since so many years. (since 1950 we have more informations and statistics about the football). Before it was a great work that the IFFHS has done and continue to publish.
The IFFHS has taken in consideration the nominees in each position of the BALLON D'OR DREAM TEAM and will give the informations about the Awards and distinctions of the nominees by IFFHS in the last years. After the Goalkeepers, the Defenders and the Midfielders, the Forwards.
- Cristiano RONALDO (Portugal) won 7 individual IFFHS Awards (THE WORLD'S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER 2014 and 2015 also THE WORLD'S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019) and 3 IFFHS Awards of THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 2008 with Manchester United, 2014 and 2017 with Real Madrid.
- Ryan GIGGS (Wales) won 2 IFFHS Awards of THE CLUB WORLD RANKING with Manchester United 1999 and 2008.
- Thierry HENRY (France) won 2 IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD'S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER 2003 and of THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 2009 with FC Barcelona
- RIVALDO (Brazil) won 3 IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD'S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER 2000 and of THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 1997 with FC Barcelona and 2003 with AC Milan
- Hristo STOICHKOV (Bulgaria) won 2 IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD'S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER 1994 and of THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 1997 with FC Barcelona
- Oleg BLOKHINE (Ukraine), RONALDINHO (Brazil), Karl Heinz RUMMENIGGE (Germany), Ryan GIGGS, Thierry HENRY, RIVALDO, and Hristo STOICHKOV were chosen by IFFHS to be part of THE LEGEND PLAYERS List Phase 1 and 2. Cristiano RONALDO is active Player,but it is sure that he will enter at the end of his career in the IFFHS LEGEND PLAYERS.
- Dennis BERKAMP (Netherlands) won 2 IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD'S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER 1992 and THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 1992 with Ajax Amsterdam
- Johan CRUYFF (Netherlands) won the IFFHS Award of THE 20TH CENTURY BEST EUROPEAN PLAYER and was ranked second in the World behind Pelé.
- RONALDO (Brazil) won 3 IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD'S BEST INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORER 1997 and THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 1998 with Inter Milan and 2002 with Real Madrid
- Marco VAN BASTEN (Netherlands) won 3 IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD'S BEST PLAYER 1988 and 1989 - and THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 1995 with AC Milan, ranked 12th in the IFFHS 20TH CENTURY WORLD PLAYER Voting.
- George WEAH (Liberia) won 3 IFFHS Awards of THE 20TH CENTURY BEST AFRICAN PLAYER (27th in the World), and THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 1994 with Paris SG and 1995 with AC Milan.
- Kenny DALGLISH (Scotland), EUSEBIO (Portugal - 9th in THE IFFHS 20TH CENTURY WORLD PLAYER Ranking), Gerd MULLER (Germany - 13th in THE IFFHS 20TH CENTURY WORLD PLAYER Ranking), ROMARIO (Brazil), Dennis BERGKAMP, Johan CRUYFF, RONALDO, Marco VAN BASTEN and George WEAH were chosen by IFFHS in THE LEGEND PLAYERS List Phase 1 and 2.

- Samuel ETO'O (Cameroon) won 2 IFFHS Awards of THE CLUB WORLD RANKING 2009 with FC Barcelona and 2010 with Inter Milan
- GARRINCHA (Brazil - 8th in the IFFHS 20TH CENTURY WORLD PLAYER Ranking), Kevin KEEGAN (England), Stanley MATTHEWS (England - 11th of THE IFFHS 20TH CENTURY WORLD PLAYER Ranking), David BECKHAM, Luis FIGO and Samuel ETO'O were chosen by IFFHS to be part of THE LEGEND PLAYERS List Phase 1 and Phase 2. Lionel MESSI, like Cristiano Ronaldo, is always active and will be part of the IFFHS LEGEND PLAYERS when he retired, this is an evidence !
