THE FIRST WOMAN REFEREE !

 

Stephanie Frappart became last Wednesday the first woman to referee a men’s Champions League game when she oversees juventus vs Dynamo Kiev . Juve send her a mail to congratulate for her performance.

She was also the first female referee in :

-       Ligue 2 France (March 2014)

-       Ligue 1 France (April 2019)

-       UEFA European Super Cup Final (August 2019)

-       UEFA Europa League (October 2020)

-       Men’s International match (september 2020)

 

 

RIP PAPA BOUBA DIOP 

Papa Bouba Diop, a former midfielder who represented Senegal more than 60 times and played for several European football clubs, has died at the age of 42,  following a long illness.

Diop scored the first goal of the 2002 World Cup held in Japan and South Korea when Senegal shocked reigning champions France by beating them 1-0 in the opening game.

 

MOST UCL APPEARANCES BY A MEXICAN PLAYER

Hector Herrera (47 games with FC Porto and Atlético Madrid) has beaten the old record of Chicharito (46 games with Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Man United) to become the Mexican Player in the History to have played the most games in the UEFA Champions League.

 

 

THE OLDEST

Olivier GIROUD (34 years and 63 days) became last Wednesday the oldest player to have scored 4 goals in one UEFA Champions League Game (Chelsea – Sevilla 4-0) !

The old Record was held by  Cristiano Ronaldo (34 years and 35 days ) . Giroud, one of the 3 best Goal Scorers in the HISTORY of France National Team, is also the oldest player in the History of Chelsea to have scored 4 goals !

 

KYLIAN MBAPPE REACHES 100 GOALS FOR PSG

 

 

Kylian Mbappe came off the bench to score his 100th goal for Paris Saint-Germain as the French league leaders secured a hard-fought 3-1 win at Montpellier on Saturday, December 5^th, 2020.

Mbappe’s century of PSG goals came in 137 games and this feat was achieved when the 21-year-old turned in a cross from Layvin Kurzawa from close range in the 90th minute of the game.
