The World’s Best Serial Goal Scorer 2020: Nikita Rukavytsya
The longest scoring run in world top football in 2020 was achieved by Nikita Rukavytsya, an Australian currently playing in Israel for Maccafi Haifa.
From August 16 to December 12, he didn’t leave the pitch without netting at least once in 13 consecutive games in all competitions (see below in the table).
Nikita Rukavytsya (his last name means “gauntlet”) was born in Soviet Union, on the current Ukrainian territory, and lived in Ukraine until coming to Australia with his parents at the age of 14.
Being now 33, he has held the best year of his career: 30 goals in total. He did never score so much previously.
The second longest series in 2020 belongs to Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah playing for Al Hassr (Saudi Arabia): 10 games in a row from August 10 to September 27.
As for world’s best top goal-scorers of 2020 overall, they had shorter series: Lukaku’s maximal one made 5 games, Lewandowski’s did 7 games, Haaland’s also 7 and Cristiano Ronaldo 9.
At the start of 2021, we will follow the Dane Kasper Junker who brilliantly finished the season in Norwegian league (for Bodø/Glimt) with 9 productive games in a row and can increase his series once the football has resumed.
