The 19-year-old left full back from Canada has without a doubt had the best year of his career so far ! He broke into the Bayern Munich first team on Matchday nine of the Bundesliga games and has not looked back since then.
He thrilled the whole football world with his scintillating performances in the UEFA Champions League, first against Chelsea in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie at Stamford bridge where he went past 3 Chelsea defenders to setup Lewandowski for the third goal of the match. He followed this performance up against Barcelona and his idol, Lionel Messi in the Quarter-final match where he went past almost 5 Barcelona defenders while turning Semendo in-and-out before setting up Joshua Kimmich in the 8-2 Mauling of Barcelona. Asides, his attacking prowess, he is a very solid defender, hard-tackler, strong in the air and fast-paced, hence not easily beaten by opposition wingers.
He ended the 2019/2020 season with 3 goals and 10 assists from 46 games, an impressive feat for a left full back while being an integral part of the Bayern Munich that won FIVE MAJOR TROPHIES in the year, Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and DFL Super Cup.
While on a personal note, he has been rewarded with several accolades like Canadas Men Player of the year 2020 and figuring in the IFFHS MEN’S WORLD TEAM of the year 2020 before becoming THE BEST MAN PLAYER 2020 in CONCACAF by IFFHS before the US young stars Mac Kennie and Reina, and Mexican Raul Jimenez.
